Effective October 30, 2026. Zazachat is free to read and use, with no sign-up. The one-line note in our footer points here; this is the full version, written plainly.
How it works
- Our rankings, reviews, comparisons, guides, news, the 6-question quiz, the customer support cost calculator and the Myth or Fact quizzes are free. You never pay us anything.
- Partner programs. Many vendors run partner programs. When you buy a tool after following a link on our site, the vendor may pay us a commission. The vendor pays it, not you.
- Featured Partner spots. A vendor can pay to be shown in a Featured Partner spot. The spot is labeled "Featured Partner" and sits apart from the editorial content: in its own section on a ranking page, or beside the bill in the customer support cost calculator.
- Places in our lists. A vendor can pay for a place in one of our lists. A paid place carries a visible "Sponsored" label where it appears.
- A paid spot is never presented as the number-one pick of a ranking. Every paid label on the site is backed by a deal on record.
- A partner link, or a link inside a paid spot, carries tracking tags so the vendor can see that the visit came from Zazachat and from which page. The tags name our site and the page, not you.
The 6-question quiz and the calculator
- Your three matches come only from your answers, the prices vendors publish and our notes on each tool. The math runs in your browser.
- No vendor can pay to change the matches: not to be added, not to be removed, and not to move up.
- The result has no paid spots: no Featured Partner sits beside your three matches. A commission from a partner program never changes them either.
- The customer support cost calculator sorts its bill by price alone. A paid spot sits beside the bill, never inside it.
Who owns the site
The owner of this site, Michael Kansky, also owns LiveHelpNow, a live chat tool we cover. Because of that:
- LiveHelpNow appears in the quiz like any other tool. It is matched by the same rules as every other tool, and it is never moved up.
- Wherever LiveHelpNow appears, in a match, a ranking, a card or a listing, the page says next to it that the owner of this site also owns it.
- LiveHelpNow holds the Featured Partner spot on our overall ranking and on our live chat ranking, as the sponsor of those pages. It sits apart from the ranking there, without a number, and no money changes hands for it.
What payment does not buy
Payment of any kind does not buy:
- A higher position in a ranking, or the number-one spot.
- A quiz match or a better place in a calculator bill.
- The removal of criticism or of an unflattering comparison.
- Control over the words on a page.
Ranking order follows the criteria on our how we rank page. The rules we hold ourselves to are in our editorial policy.
News
News stories link to the original publishers. The short notes we add to each story are our own words.
Why we tell you this
We would rather tell you exactly how the site makes money than pretend it runs on goodwill. Knowing which spots are paid, and who owns the site, lets you weigh our recommendations with clear eyes.
Trademarks
Product names, logos and brands shown on this site belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the products we cover.
Questions
Vendors who want a placement or a listing can use the "For vendors" link in our footer. For anything else about how we make money, write to us.
